story of my life

Come to my place
I’ll show you my face
Take off my mask
You’ll see the real me
All the struggle and the pain
Dark lines ‘neath my eyes
Coz I really don’t get
Too much sleep at night
I remember when the going was tough
Half a life, cut from the rough
These days I smile when the weather changes
Pick up my book and turn the pages….

Coz that which passes by passes like clouds in the sky
Now I’m here to sing about the story of my life
Where rage is the only emotion that I feel
And it helps me heal, keeps it real, gifts me nerves of steel

Sitting at night
Knocking out my rhymes
In my mind,
Travellin’ to another time
When the days were lonely
And the pain it hurt
But these days I’ve learnt to get up
And shake off the dirt
Foolin’ n fussin n fightin n crawlin’
Losin’, boozin’, whilin’ away the morning
Over the hills and so far away
That you can’t see the light till its too late to see
